Boar's Head Festival:  Usher in the Yuletide and welcome the New Year with this popular Worcester holiday tradition as the Master Singers present great choral music of the season accompanied by brass and organ, replete with younger choristers and dancers to celebrate in Renaissance period costume the passage of the winter solstice.  Much of the repertoire, including several period masterpieces by Sweelinck, Scheidt and other period composers will also be included in the Master Singers' soon to be released recording featuring music of the Boar's Head.  This year's performance will also include a troupe of Morris Dancers, as well as swordsmen and armor from the renowned Higgins Armory.  The festival will conclude with a jolly reception in Brewer Hall.

Visionary Women:  The Master Singers of Worcester collaborate with the Worcester Women's History Project to celebrate the remarkable achievements of New England women.  Settings of Massachusetts poets including Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver and Worcester-born Elizabeth Bishop will be featured in choral compositions by Gwyneth Walker, Ronald Perera and other contemporary composers, as well as a performance of a new collaboratively-composed work by three area composers celebrating three outstanding women of the Women's Rights Movement with strong ties to Worcester: Clara Barton, Abby Kelley Foster and Lucy Stone.  Special guest performers will include renowned mezzo-soprano D'Anna Fortunato and a string quartet.  Preceding the concert, a lecture will be presented at 3pm by the Worcester County Poetry Association about New England's famous female poets and their place in the history of American poetry.

The Master Singers of Worcester join forces with the Salisbury Singers to perform music for a great space with organ and a brass ensemble, including the festive Mass Op. 130 by Joseph Jongen, as well as Romantic choral gems by Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Joseph Parry and others.  Much of the music will be featured on a joint tour to Rome and southern Italy planned for early July, 2011.
