Sounds Of Stow Chorus & Orchestra
(978) 562-0302
The Sounds of Stow Chorus is an all-volunteer, open group. Auditions are not required. Principles of good singing and musicianship are realized through rehearsals that are challenging and fun. The Sounds of Stow Orchestra consists of talented local musicians who enjoy playing a diverse repertoire of classics.
For over 30 years, under the dedicated leadership of pianist Ernest Goldman and Artistic Director Barbara Jones, the chorus and orchestra have brought quality music spanning many centuries to the community. From humble beginnings, appearing at Stow’s Springfest celebration, the chorus has grown and developed into one of the most respected choral groups in the area, presenting three concerts a year. The Chorus is joined by the full orchestra for fall and winter concerts. The traditional Stow Springfest concert features the Chorus and other area musicians in a celebration of community with lighter works. In recognition of the increasing role played by the musicians of the orchestra, the group incorporated in 1992, becoming the Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra. A complete listing of previous concerts is given on the Sounds of Stow website.
